Week 14 Starts and Sits

December 8, 2019

For those of you that are still in relevant matchups this week, congratulations!  This is where the culmination of all your hard work, the endless amount of research, and pain pays off.  Let's take a look at some starts and sits for week 14:

Kirk Cousins vs DET-  The Lions defense is very porous.  They aren't strong against the run or the pass.  Cousins has been pretty consistent after having a rough start.  Start Kirk with confidence this week.

Ryan Tannehill @ OAK-  Tannehill has been golden since taking over the starting job.  He has made the Titans very competitive and he is playing so well.  Look for more of that against a weak Raiders defense.

Aaron Rodgers vs WAS-  Rodgers has been so up and down this season.  The offense is just different. They rely on the run heavily.  With that being said, this is a great matchup. I wouldn't be afraid to throw Rodgers out there and expect 20 plus points.

Derek Carr vs TEN-  Carr was having a nice season up until a couple of weeks ago.  The Raiders offense hasn't looked great recently. I'd look elsewhere for a quarterback if you are streaming.

Philip Rivers @ JAX-  It is quite apparent that Phil cannot be trusted this year.  He has been a mess as of late. There were even rumors of Rivers being benched.  Leave Rivers on the bench.

Kyle Allen @ ATL-  Allen was a serviceable streamer at one point this season.  He is no longer serviceable. The Panthers have looked rough and so has Allen.

Derrius Guice @ GB-  Guice has been hot and he definitely passes the eye test.  Green Bay has some trouble defending the run as well. Look for Washington to rely heavily on Guice in this one.

Devonta Freeman vs CAR-  The Panthers have allowed the most touchdowns to running backs.  They are very generous to opposing running backs this year. If you have Freeman, fire him up.

Kareem Hunt vs CIN-  Hunt has put up great Flex/RB2 numbers since his return from suspension.  This is a much more attractive option in PPR leagues, but he is a good play in standard leagues as well this year.

Tevin Coleman @ NO-  Coleman looked like a bonafide stud when he returned from his injury.  The 49ers have used a full-blown RBBC as of late and Coleman isn't seeing a ton of work anymore.  Also, Mostert has earned more touches so it's just hard to trust Coleman at this point.

Devin Singletary vs BAL-  The Ravens have been hard on opposing running backs.  They are allowing the second-fewest points to running backs.  Not to mention the fact that the Bills may be chasing points in this game.

Marlon Mack @ TB-  Mack is set to return from a fractured hand this week.  This matchup is pretty brutal. The Bucs are a top 5 rushing defense and there are some questions regarding his health.

Courtland Sutton @ HOU-  This kid is a stud. It doesn't matter who the quarterback is, they force this guy the ball because he is that good.  He's basically a must-start every week for me at this point.

DeVante Parker @ NYJ-  Speaking of studs...this is the breakout season we have been waiting for with this dude for years.  He's unstoppable right now. Keep him in your lineup until the stats say otherwise.

Robert Woods vs SEA-  Woods has been catching fire as of late.  He has recently been the most consistent Rams receiver in the last 3 weeks or so.  I'd keep rolling with Woods.

Brandin Cooks vs SEA-  Cooks has been super disappointing this season.  He has not had a double-digit outing since week 4.  Leave him on the bench.

Emmanuel Sanders @ NO-  Sanders has cooled down since the emergence of Deebo.  The Saints have been pretty good against wide receivers this year.  If you have a player with a good matchup, play them instead.

Tyrell Williams vs TEN-  The Raider's passing game hasn't been great as of late.  Tyrell started off hot this year but has been very pedestrian since returning from injury.

Jack Doyle @ TB-  The Colts will be missing TY Hilton once again.  On top of that, Eric Ebron is done for the year. Doyle is going to be the guy.  Look for Doyle to be the chain mover/red-zone target.

Vance McDonald @ ARI-  It seems like every week I am suggesting to play the tight end on the team playing against the Cardinals.  That is because they are so so so bad at covering the position. Keep up with this trend and start Vance.

OJ Howard vs IND-  Try not to chase the points with this guy.  He is not a big part of the Bucs game plan and he has been pretty weak all year round.

David Njoku vs CIN-  Njoku is back. That doesn't mean you should play him though.  He hasn't suited up in months. I'd take a wait and see approach for now.
