Week 14- Waivers Edition

December 4, 2018

My waiver additions are based off of 10-man leagues. I use the average ESPN percentages and stats to supply the information I use within my waiver additions. Some of the players listed may be taken in your league, but I will go in depth to add deep waiver additions as well. I broke it down by position, listing it by the most value at the top leading to the least value at the bottom. I will try not to list players from week to week but there are no promises. As we go week to week, the waivers will become more and more barren. Make sure you make your waivers count, as they are what help you build a winning team. Players from last week that would still be solid waiver pickups if they are available: Baker Mayfield.

Josh Allen, QB- Buffalo Bills- 3.7% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: NYJ, DET, NE

Allen has been a stud as of late. After dealing with an injury, he has been nothing short of amazing over the last two weeks. His upcoming schedule is also superb, facing a Jets defense that was just thrashed by Marcus Mariota. If you have Mitch Trubisky, and need a streamer Allen would be my guy.

Derek Carr, QB- Oakland Raiders- 10.6% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: PIT, CINC, DEN

Carr has been a roller coaster at the quarterback position. This past week he went head to head with Kansas City and kept it neck to neck the whole time. This week he faces a Steelers defense that were beat by Phillip Rivers and the Chargers. Now Carr is not Rivers, but if his hot streak continues this week, he may be a solid streamer.

Running Backs

Jaylen Samuels, RB- Pittsburgh Steelers- 3.2% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: OAK, NE, NO

Samuels is my top waiver add of the week. He couldn’t have a better situation than what is in store for this week either. The Steelers are facing the Oakland Raiders, a team that’s defense has been beat time and time again especially by running backs. With James Conner out this week, Samuels will have the lion’s share of the Steelers backfield. Samuels should be a high end RB2 with RB1 upside.

Jeff Wilson, RB- San Francisco 49ers- 0% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: DEN, SEA, CHI

Wilsonnnnn! Jeff Wilson is yet again a no name running back being added at the most crucial time of the fantasy football season. With Matt Breida being out this upcoming week, there is a good chance Wilson will lead the Niners backfield. The matchup against the Broncos not sublime, but the amount of work he will get will make him relevant this week. Wilson is a solid flex with RB2 upside.

Justin Jackson, RB- Los Angeles Chargers- 12.1% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: CINC, KC, BAL

Jackson was a solid beneficiary of Melvin Gordon being out.  Now it is believed that Gordon will be back this week. So Jackson’s value will fade back to being what it was all year. If Gordon were to be out this week, then Jackson is a decent add for those who need Running back depth. He would have flex value if that were the case this week against the Bengals.

Wide Receivers

Dante Pettis, WR- San Francisco 49ers- 2.2 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: DEN, SEA, CHI

Pettis is pretty much the last man standing in the Niners receiving core. That’s not to put him down, as over the last two weeks he has been awesome. He faces a really good Broncos defense this week, which limits his upside. I still see him being a decent play though, as he will get the targets. Pettis is a solid flex with WR2 upside if things work out for him.

John Ross, WR- Cincinnati Bengals- 15.5 Owned

Upcoming Schedule: LAC, OAK, CLE

Ross is back! AJ Green is done for the year, leaving the WR2 position available for Ross to once again claim. When Green has missed a game, Ross almost certainly gets a touchdown. Now banking on a touchdown is risky, but if you need an upside play this week Ross definitely can be put into your lineup. He has flex value this upcoming week against a solid Chargers defense.

Zay Jones, WR- Buffalo Bills- 1.7% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: NYJ, DET, NE

Jones has been all over the place, but when Josh Allen Plays his upside increases exponentially. This is purely for those looking to roll the dice and hope that he gets a long touchdown pass as he has done a few times this year. The Bills will be facing a weak Jets defense that can definitely be burned down the field. Jones is a Flex with upside ( low floor, high ceiling).

Tight Ends

At a position that has such a large fluctuation of points scored, any type of solid production is always acknowledged.

Ian Thomas, TE- Carolina Panthers- 0.2 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: CLE, NO, ATL

Greg Olsen is once again on IR. Leaving a lot of targets left to be had. Thomas has not been anything special, but looked pretty good in Greg’s absence this past week. If you are dire need of a tight end, you could do a lot worse than Thomas this week. The Panthers should be able to move the ball against the Browns, and I see Thomas getting a handful of targets. Thomas is a high-end TE2 with upside.
