Week 12- Waivers Edition

November 19, 2018

My waiver additions are based off of 10-man leagues. I use the average ESPN percentages and stats to supply the information I use within my waiver additions. Some of the players listed may be taken in your league, but I will go in depth to add deep waiver additions as well. I broke it down by position, listing it by the most value at the top leading to the least value at the bottom. I will try not to list players from week to week but there are no promises. As we go week to week, the waivers will become more and more barren. Make sure you make your waivers count, as they are what help you build a winning team. Players from last week that would still be solid waiver pickups if they are available: Frank Gore, Anthony Miller, and Jonnu Smith.

Lamar Jackson, QB- Baltimore Ravens- 22.4% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: OAK, ATL, KC

Jackson was highly touted coming out of college, especially for his running ability. We all saw what he was able to do this past weekend, when he gets the chance to start. He truly has an extremely high ceiling due to his legs, which had vaulted him into the QB1 tier this past weekend. He will be facing a weak Oakland defense this that has been thrashed by runners recently. So why would Jackson be able to do the same. He is a solid streamer, especially for those who are dealing with the last of the bye weeks.

Jameis Winston, QB- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- 9.2% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: SF, CAR, NO

Tampa loves to flip flop quarterbacks. Right after Fitzpatrick took back the reigns, Winston has taken them back once again. Who knows what we will be in store for this week. On paper this matchup looks really good, so wait and see who they decide to start. If you’re in need for a streamer, I like whichever QB plays this week.

Running Backs

Josh Adams, RB- Philadelphia Eagles- 27.9% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: NYG, WSH, DAL

Adams has been the most complete back the Eagles have had as of late. He is getting solid yardage running and even found the end zone this past week. The Eagles are in a rough spot, but they still have a chance to fight for their division. If they continue to increase his workload, Adams could be a viable flex with upside for the rest of the season.

Gus Edwards, RB- Baltimore Ravens- 1.8% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: OAK, ATL, KC

From a no name to a possible waiver wire steal, Edwards offers solid upside at a weak position. It all depends on how the Ravens decide to continue, but if they do give Edwards the workload he should continue to have fantasy relevance. He is a wait and see, but could offer flex upside in deeper leagues this week.

Wide Receivers

Tre’quan Smith, WR- New Orleans Saints- 13.3% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: ATL, DAL, TB

Smith has been all over the place from a fantasy perspective. But maybe this was just the breakout he needed to set him off on the right path. I would want almost every main piece of the Saints offense at this moment. They’re playing lights out, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Smith is a flex, with major upside.

DJ Moore, WR- Carolina Panthers- 32% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: SEA, TB, CLE

Moore has been very similar to Smith, he has been hit or miss. But after this past game, I believe the Panthers will start using him more. When you see something work, why would you change it? Moore has the ability to be a solid flex play this week, and has upside to be much more for the rest of the season.

Tight Ends

At a position that has such a large fluctuation of points scored, any type of solid production is always acknowledged.

Antonio Gates, TE- Los Angeles Chargers- 13.1 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: ARI, PIT, CIN

Follow the targets and touchdowns is all I can say. There is no data to back up my recommendations at the tight end position this week. They have mostly been picked clean. So go with the fact that Rivers targeted Gates a ton this week and go from there. Gates has the ability to be another solid target against the Cardinals this week.

Robert Tonyan, TE- Green Bay Packers- 0% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: MIN, ARI, ATL

Jimmy Graham is done for who knows how long, leaving his targets open. Green bay doesn’t really use the tight end like most teams so take this with a grain of salt. If you are extremely desperate Tonyan has value at the weakest position in fantasy. He could get you zero or 10 points. If you need a roll of the dice, Tonyan is your guy.
