Week 9- Waivers Edition

October 29, 2018

**Disclaimer** My waiver additions are based off of 10-man leagues. I use the average ESPN percentages and stats to supply the information I use within my waiver additions. Some of the players listed may be taken in your league, but I will go in depth to add deep waiver additions as well. I broke it down by position, listing it by the most value at the top leading to the least value at the bottom. I will try not to list players from week to week but there are no promises. As we go week to week, the waivers will become more and more barren. Make sure you make your waivers count, as they are what help you build a winning team. Players from last week that would still be great waiver pickups if they are available: Marlon Mack, Tyrell Williams and Danny Amendola.

Quarterbacks

Derek Carr, QB- Oakland Raiders- 15.3 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: SF, LAC, ARI

Dude where’s my Carr? Derek was on fire this past week against the Colts. He was firing on all cylinders. After a week where he lost his WR1 and RB1, Carr did not look like he lost a step. Now Carr has been wishy washy in the past, but his upcoming schedule is pretty good. Especially this week in San Fran. If you need a one week bye week fill in Carr would be my guy. He has a high end QB2 floor with definite QB1 upside.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB- Tampa Bay Buccaneers- 6% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: CAR, WSH, NYG

Fitzpatrick is back! Well sorta, nobody knows what Tampa will do at the QB position. All I know is that Fitzpatrick has been the better QB this year, not to say both haven’t had their faults. If Fitzpatrick is the QB, he is worth a speculative add this week. The Panthers have been a solid defense, but if Fitzpatrick from earlier in the season comes out to play. Watch out! It is a gamble either way, but if you need the upside and he is named the starter Fitzpatrick is a solid streaming play this week in what should be a high scoring game.

Blake Bortles, QB- Jacksonville Jaguars- 21.5% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: BYE, IND, PIT, BUF, IND

Bortles hasn’t been the most consistent QB this year. But he has had solid weeks, and is a viable streaming QB depending on the matchup. He is on bye this week, but his upcoming schedule is pretty sweet. If you are planning ahead and need a Bye week fill in, Bortles offers solid upside for the next 4 weeks after his bye.

Honorable Mention(s): Josh Rosen, QB- Arizona Cardinals, Baker Mayfield, QB- Cleveland Browns, Alex Smith, QB- Washington Redskins

Running Backs

Devontae Booker, RB- Denver Broncos- 16.5% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: HOU, BYE, LAC, PIT

Booker came in this past week and put up solid numbers with Royce Freeman being out of the game. If Freeman is out again, Booker has the ability to own a good share of the carries on the ground. He has bye week fill in/ flex upside against the Texans this week.

Nyheim Hines, RB- Indianapolis Colts- 39.1 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: BYE, JAX, TEN, MIA

Marlon Mack has become a monster in the Colts backfield, leaving people to give up on Hines. Hines still carries value, especially in PPR leagues. He will no longer carry the bulk of the carries, but will still receive targets. He is matchup dependent, but is worth an add for those who need depth at a shallow position.  Hines is on a Bye this week, but can be added and has a decent enough schedule to warrant bye week fill/ flex production.

Josh Adams, RB- Philadelphia Eagles- 0.4% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: BYE, DAL, NO, NYG

The Eagles backfield is all over the place, but Adams does look like he has the ability to compete for a chunk of the carries in the backfield. He received a solid share this past week, and had above average YPC total. In a deeper league he is worth the add, for the pure fact that he continues his success on the ground, or that there is an injury. Adams is a add in deeper leagues, for those who need RB depth.

Honorable Mention(s): Frank Gore, RB- Miami Dolphins

Wide Receivers

David Moore, WR- Seattle Seahawks- 2.7 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: LAC, LAR, GB

David Moore, the sleeper of all sleepers. Even after posting two straight solid weeks, he is only owned in 2.7 % of ESPN leagues. Moore is a must add, especially for those who are WR needy. He is getting a solid target share, and is outperforming the other receivers on the team. Russell Wilson is also showing trust in him, which adds even more upside. Moore is a great bye week fill in/ flex with WR2 upside.

DeVante Parker, WR- Miami Dolphins- 21.6 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: NYJ, GB, BYE, IND

Everybody hates the dreaded DeVante Parker hype, mostly because he always disappoints. The opportunities are there for Parker, and this is his chance to own up to all the Hype that has surrounded him. Other than Danny Amendola, and Kenyan Drake, Parker is the only other option in the receiving corps for the Dolphins. As we saw this past week with a 6-134 start line, the targets will be there for Parker. With an easy upcoming schedule, Parker is a bye week fill in/ flex with WR2 upside.

Marquez Valdes- Scatling, WR- Green Bay Packers- 3.3% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: NE, MIA, SEA

Geronimo Allison was the GB wide receiver that was getting all the long touchdowns earlier in the season. Now it seems that MVS is the Packer stretching the field and scoring the touchdowns. The Packers have a packed crew of wide receivers, but you can’t ignore the chemistry building between Rodgers and MVS. MVS has solid upside, especially if he continues to be Aaron Rodgers go to guy on the deep ball. He is a good bye week fill in/ flex with a nice upcoming schedule.

Honorable Mention(s): Josh Reynolds, WR- LA Rams, DJ Moore, WR, Carolina Panthers, Antonio Callaway, WR- Cleveland Browns

Tight Ends

At a position that has such a large fluctuation of points scored, any type of solid production is always acknowledged. The following tight ends may not be the best, but over the last two weeks have grown and developed into solid additions to any roster with tight end needs.

Jack Doyle, TE- Indianapolis Colts- 31.9% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: BYE, JAX, TEN, MIA

This is probably your last chance to grab Doyle, especially with the Colts being on a Bye this week. Doyle is the last true TE1 on the waivers. After being out with injuries the last several weeks, Doyle jumped right back in with TE1 numbers. Andrew Luck has shown that he peppers his tight ends with targets, and I do not see that changing anytime soon. With a solid QB, and a decent schedule ahead Doyle should be in the TE1 tier heading forward.

Chris Herndon, TE- New York Jets- 5% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: MIA, BUF, BYE, NE

Herndon has been a consistent sleeper over the past 3 weeks, having point totals of 12.5, 12, and 8. He is touchdown reliant, but does offer upside at a limited position. Herndon has TE2 potential this week against Miami, but with a touchdown would slide right in to TE1 territory.

Ed Dickson- TE- Seattle Seahawks- 0.5% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: LAC, LAR, GB

Ed is back on the fantasy spectrum. After dealing with injuries all year, Ed might be on track to have solid fantasy potential at the weakest position in the league. He only had 2 targets this past week, but did combine for 54 yard and a touchdown. He is definitely worth monitoring, and worth an add in deeper leagues. If Ed can make a consistent connection with Russell Wilson, he will have start worthy status most weeks. Ed is a TE2 with upside this week against the Chargers.

Honorable Mention(s): Vance McDonald, TE- Pittsburgh Steelers, Jordan Thomas, TE- Houston Texans, Dallas Goedert, TE- Philadelphia Eagles, Hayden Hurst, TE- Baltimore Ravens.
