Week 6- Waivers Edition

October 8, 2018

**Disclaimer**My waiver additions are based off of 10-man leagues. I use the average ESPN percentages and stats to supply the information I use within my waiver additions. Some of the players listed may be taken in your league, but I will go in depth to add deep waiver additions as well. I broke it down by position, listing it by the most value at the top leading to the least value at the bottom. I will try not to list players from week to week but there are no promises. As we go week to week, the waivers will become more and more barren. Make sure you make your waivers count, as they are what help you build a winning team. Players from last week that would still be great waiver pickups if they are available: Mitch Trubisky, TJ Yeldon, Nyheim Hines, Mike Davis, Mohamed Sanu, Keke Coutee, Cameron Brate, Geoff Swaim. This week is different from most I have written about this year. The main reason being that most of the players I would write about, I had written about last week. You could read that article @ https://www.thehateful8ff.com/

Blake Bortles, QB- Jacksonville Jaguars- 40% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: DAL, HOU, PHI

Bortles has been on this list before. Wishy washy at times, but also a solid streamer. Bortles has been known to put up solid fantasy outings, but what I have realized is that the chances are better when Fournette is out. He is more likely to air out the ball, and accumulate fanatays points. Fournette is almost certainly out this week against a beatable Dallas defense. Bortles should again be a solid streamer this week.

C J Beathard, QB- San Francisco 49ers- 3.1% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: GB, LAR, ARI

Quarterbacks are so deep, but if you do play in a 2 QB league or are in a hard spot Beathard could have streaming value from week to week. In his first two starts, he has been a solid QB.  More of a QB2, but if the matchup is right I would be fine rolling out Beathard.

Running Backs

Alfred Blue( 15.5% Owned) and D'Onta Foreman(6.1% Owned), RB’s – Houston Texans

Upcoming Schedule: BUF, JAX, MIA

For Blue this all depends on if Lamar Miller is out this upcoming week. His value relies solely upon that. If Miller is out Blue has solid starting ability against a less than par Bills defense. He should be a solid flex with upside this upcoming week if Miller is out. Now to Foreman, this may be a great opportunity to add a solid starting caliber running back this late in the game. Miller has been under performing since day one. If Foreman comes back at full strength, he should be able to take the lead role from Miller after a game or so. I believe if he does get that opportunity, he should be a low end RB2 with upside.

Kyle Juszczyk, RB- San Francisco 49ers- .8% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: GB, LAR, ARI

At a position getting shallower by the day, Juszczyk has some upside in deeper leagues. With Breida dealing with an ankle injury, Juszczyk has the opportunity to fill in. This is only for the desperate of the desperate, as nothing is in stone for his usage. But if you are willing to roll the dice, he may be a sneaky flex or bye week fill in this upcoming week.

Wide Receivers

Christian Kirk, WR- Arizona Cardinals- 11.4% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: MIN, DEN, SF

Kirk has been the best receiver on the Cardinals since Josh Rosen’s injury. Larry Fitzgerald is injured and no other player not named David Johnson is showing any ability. It makes sense that there would be a Rosen to Kirk connection as they are both incoming rookies. Kirk is a solid add for those who need a Wide Receiver with the ability to grow. He should have bye week fill in / flex value in the future.

Marquez Valdes- Scantling, WR- Green Bay Packers- 7.2 % Owned

Upcoming Schedule: SF, BYE, LAR, NE

Scantling filled in for the Wide Receiver depleted Packers this past weekend. He didn’t only fill in, but he thrived at the opportunity. He had 7 catches for 68 yards and a touchdown. If Cobb or Allison were to be out again this weekend, Scantling would have another solid chance at putting up a good stat day. Scantling is a speculative add, and a wait and see. If you are in a tough spot he could be a bye week fill in/ flex if the other receivers are out.

Donte Moncrief, WR- Jacksonville Jaguars- 13% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: DAL, HOU, PHI

The Jaguars receivers have been all over the place with consistency. But over the last two weeks Moncrief has had a solid target share, and continues to put up solid numbers. I do not see a reason why that should stop this week against Dallas. Moncrief is a decent bye week fill in/ flex for those who are in need for 8-10 points.

Tight Ends

At a position that has such a large fluctuation of points scored, any type of solid production is always acknowledged. The following tight ends may not be the best, but over the last two weeks have grown and developed into solid additions to any roster with tight end needs.

Austin Hooper, TE- Atlanta Falcons- 49% Owned

Upcoming Schedule: TB, NYG, BYE, WSH

The tight end position is getting uglier and uglier, Hooper has always been the hit or miss type tight end. That hasn’t changed but it seems he is getting a decent target share, when it comes to tight ends. Hooper is not consistent, but if you are in a tight spot he should be able to put in the points needed this week. Hooper is a fine bye week fill in at the tight end position.
