Winner: Ricky Seals-Jones
The Cardinals lost Carson Palmer this off season due to retirement and it wasn’t looking good for the Cardinals passing attack but with a great passer in Sam Bradford acquired and drafting Josh Rosen the Cardinals can breathe a sigh of relief and of that group the biggest winner has to be Ricky Seals-Jones, one of the bright spots of a down season for the Cardinals has to be the emergence of Seals-Jones. He will be a top option for whoever is under center and he can be a good late round fantasy TE.
Loser: Sam Bradford
When the Cardinals signed Sam Bradford he was nailed on to be the starter but now with the Cardinals moving up in the 1st round of the NFL Draft his stay as the starter might not be for as long as he thought. The often injured Bradford cant afford to miss any time and give Rosen a chance to shine as he might be on the sideline even when healthy. I’d wouldn’t be picking either QB for my fantasy team until the situation is clearer.
Winner: Rashaad Penny
Penny was not expected to be drafted in the 1st round but that's what the Seahawks did and he will get his shot to be the Seahawks bell cow. Pete Carroll has said he wants the Seahawks to get back to running the football and Penny could see a lot of volume this year. Their O-Line is dreadful but he if he gets 200 carries he will be a solid starter for your fantasy team.
Loser: Russell Wilson
The Seahawks must secretly like Wilson running for his life after every snap as they did not pick an offensive lineman till the 5th round which was a lot later than was expected. They even drafted a punter over trying to keep Wilson upright. I love Wilson in fantasy but with all the running he is going to have to continue to do it won’t be long til he misses some time.
San Francisco 49ers
Winner: Jerick McKinnon
With Joe Williams and Matt Breia and them not adding any other RBs during the draft Mckinnon could have a massive year in Kyle Shanahan's offense. The explosive runner and skilled pass catcher joined this off-season from the Vikings and if he can stay healthy he can certainly challenge for a top 15 finish among running backs in 2018. I will be taking my chance with him on a lot of my teams.
Loser: Trent Taylor
Taylor had a promising rookie season last year but with the addition of 2nd round slot receiver Dante Pettis his playing could suffer. I was only drafting Taylor in super deep leagues but the addition of Pettis has me worried if he can better his production from 2017.
Winner: Rams DST
Way before the draft started the Rams DST was upgraded significantly with them trading some picks to acquire CB Marcus Peters and CB Aqib Talib. They also added Ndamukong Suh through Free Agency and with Wade Phillips ad defensive coordinator it will shock me if the Rams DST don't finish as a top 5 unit in fantasy this year.
Loser: Rams Fans
Los Angeles Rams fans were probably quite bored watching day 1 of the NFL Draft with the Rams not making a pick til day 2 but will probably get over it when the Rams win NFC West and go to the Super Bowl. Get those tickets booked Rams fans.
