Week 15 Matchups (Starters/Sleepers/Busts)

December 15, 2017

Nick Foles

Matchup - Giants (26)

It sucks to know that Carson Wentz cannot play the rest of this year or maybe even into next year. But Foles has shown his worth in the NFL and is more than Capable of filling in as a QB 2 or better with his ending schedule. Over the last 3 weeks of the season he has NYG, OAK, and DAL which should not scare owners away from him. This weeks matchup against the Giants should be great for those who need a fill in QB in week 15 as he is playing the 26th worst defense while also having better weapons in the offense than he has ever had before.

Jay Ajayi

Matchup - Giants (31)

Even without Carson Wentz the Eagles offense as a total should flourish, and this game projects to still be a blowout. Jay Ajayi has started to integrate more into the Eagles offense and they may try and lean on the run game with Wentz out. If this ends up being true this could be the breakout game for Jay Ajayi when he receives a bigger workload, in a good matchup for big lay opportunities.

Mohamed Sanu

Matchup - Buccaneers (30)

Mohamed Sanu has been great over the last 4 week as he offsets Julio jones on the other side of the field. With Sanu averaging 15.2 pts per game over the last 4 weeks he has gotten onto a roll at the end of the season. This week the Falcons play the Buccaneers who give up the 3rd most points to WRs which should give sanu to have another great game in his week 15 matchup.

Marcus Mariota

Matchup - 49ers (27)

Mariota has been a disappointment for most of the 2017 season, but that's not all his fault. He got injured this season early on and the run game lead by Demarco Murray has stalled for most of the season. Not to mention that his WR options have taken longer than expected to develop into the stars they were expected to be. But playing the 49ers in week 15 could lead Mariota to the promised land and also a breakout for Corey Davis.

Duke Johnson

Matchup - Ravens (20)

Duke is having a fantastic fantasy year being the 14th best fantasy RB in PPR leagues. Baltimore should take this game fairly easily, which should flip the game script from Crow to Johnson. With a consistent floor in PPR leagues Duke Johnson can and should be counted on as he averages around four receptions per game. With a middle of the road matchup and a chance of being behind Duke is a solid flex option for week 15.

Ted Ginn

Matchup - Jets (28)

Ted Ginn in essence is a boom bust player, we all know that. With a matchup against the Jets, it seems to be a very solid week for the Saints WRs as they allow the 5th most fantasy points to opposing teams. This is a week in which Ginn has a very high possibility to have a boom week and helping in the fantasy playoffs as a WR3.

Adam Shaheen

Matchup - Lions (32)

Shaheen has shown major flashes of the type of player he could be in the NFL for the future. Last week he showed how explosive he can be with a 4 for 44 and a TD, and this week is a week that he could to the same. In the last four weeks he has posted 2 games of 4 receptions and his target share in the offense has risen gradually since the beginning of the season. As one of the few talented pass catchers on the bears and the best matchup for TEs look for Shaheen to have a very solid week.

Alex Smith

Matchup - Chargers (4)

The Chargers defense has been unreal this year, With the two edge rushers (Bosa and Ingram) and Casey Hayward they have become one of the best defenses in the NFL. Also besides the Jets game the KC offense has stalled, and with this monstrous defense I expect Alex Smith's numbers to be down for yet another week.

Alvin Kamara

Matchup - Jets (7)

This one is controversial, but coming off his first NFL concussion the Saints may limit the workload that Kamara is accustomed to. If you have Kamara it is almost impossible to sit him as he has probably lead you to this point in your fantasy playoffs. But as they are playing the Jets who give up the 7th least amount of fantasy points to opposing RBs it should be a tough road for Kamara in week 15.

Marvin Jones

Matchup - Bears (8)

Marvin Jones is a very good player and is having a good year in the NFL. But the Bears are having a great year on the defensive side and the running game of the Lions should not scare opposing defenses. This leaves more double coverage scenarios and tougher matchups for Jones which could lead to a lower fantasy output than has be expected of him in the past few weeks.

Greg Olsen

Matchup - Packers (13)

People still think that Olsen is a top 10 TE for this year when it just simply is not true. He is still playing on a hurt foot and the timing between Olsen and Cam has not came back to them yet. Trusting in Olsen to be a top 10 TE for your fantasy team is too much to ask from him and also trusting that he will perform in the most crucial time in fantasy, The playoffs, is a little too risky for me.
