Trade Cheat Sheet Week 8

So, I’m hoping that from reading my articles and tweets on twitter that I have helped you improve your rosters, and put you in a better position to win your league. If your team is in a great position and you are destined for a playoff spot, then in the next couple of weeks you need to try and make sure your team is ready for the fantasy playoffs. If you only have a slight chance of making the play offs, and are still playing players you drafted early, even though they have been awful, then maybe it’s time to move on from your fantasy busts. If you have no depth but have an elite option then it may be time to trade them away for some depth to try to get some wins on the board in time for the playoffs. We are through seven weeks of football, and players values are a lot clearer than they were in week one. If you are still putting players like Terrelle Pryor in your starting line-ups and saying to yourself, ‘I drafted him in the third round so he’s going to become good’ you are kidding yourself. Fantasy football is all about adapting, and not just playing the players you drafted. With this being the case, I’ve lined up some trade targets to sort out your rosters and improve your chances of getting in a better position to lead you to the promised land.

Sell High

Adrian Peterson – RB

I did say to sell high the last couple of weeks, and if you were smart you would have traded him away before the London game and got a fair price for him. With Carson Palmer out for the majority of the fantasy year he is going to be a tough start week to week. If you can still find a buyer I’d be selling.

Deshaun Watson – QB

Looking ahead he has Jaguars and Steelers in week 15 and 16 so if you are 7-0 or 6-1 and likely to make the play offs you might want to look at cashing in on his high value and not being tethered to him during the fantasy play offs. I’d also be looking to sell Will Fuller for the same reasons, and his touchdown rate is going to slow up.

Terrelle Pryor – WR

He’s lost his job. His snaps are down, he’s been a bust. If you can get anything I would take it, but with all the players on bye weeks he is very droppable as you won’t want to start him. Just try and get him off your team.

Buy Low

Cameron Brate – TE

With a massive week from O.J. Howard I’ve seen Brate dropped in a couple of leagues, if one of those idiots did in your league go pick him up, and if they didn’t go try and make a trade to get him. With no less than 8 targets in his last three games he has a safe floor, and always looks like he can get a TD. Go get the Buccaneers no.1 TE.

Devin Funchess – WR

Both Panthers WR are good buy low options, but Funchess value is extremely low for the panthers No.1 WR. Hes getting plenty of targets and is a big red zone threat for Cam Newton. I expect his numbers to return to what he was getting back in week 4 and 5.

Doug Martin – RB

Martin’s playing a tough run defense this week against the Panthers, but he has a great schedule after that game. With a safe workload in a good offense and better game scripts he should end up as a Top 12 RB rest of the season.

Demaryius Thomas – WR

He’s getting targets galore, and has some great matchups coming. He has a solid week to week floor, and if he can get some touchdowns on the board he can be a good play rest of season.

Steffon Diggs – WR

Hes made the trip to London, and when he’s back healthy he can be a great week to week starter who can rack up serious yards. Even with Case Keenum he can post top 20 WR numbers, and his price is lower than it should be. With teams struggling with bye weeks and injuries, it’s a good week to try and buy him if you have enough depth and can sit him if he doesn’t play.

Austin Sefarian Jenkins-TE

I’ve been telling you to trade for ASJ every week and if you still haven’t got him what are you doing. A Top 5 TE option.

Just because I have a player to sell on this list doesn’t mean they are about to become dreadful and not worth owning. They will still have value, but the players I’ve suggested to sell high I don’t expect to stay on the same level that they started the year on.

My last quick tip is if you are struggling for wins and are sitting on Drew Brees, Deshaun Watson or Tom Brady I’d become a QB streamer and cash in on your Top QB. It’s the easiest position to stream with plenty of options available each week.

Use your brain when working out trades but if you are struggling ask us on twitter @TimJablonski and @TheHateful8FF and we can help you out!
